  • In for the long haul

    Well, it looks like this thing isn't going to be permitted to die. Thanks to all of you who responded to my last post. One reader mentioned RSS - I did forget about RSS. And after doing some checking I found there is a way to see who all is subscribed to my blog. I don't remember seeing that before. Kind of nice to know that I'm not just shooting rockets off into space - somebody actually notices!

  • Anybody out there?

    I've noticed that my traffic reports are saying that nobody visits this blog. If you're reading this blog via the email updates, please drop in and leave a comment. You don't have to say anything more than "here".  I just need to know that its worth keeping this thing alive. After pondering the response from one reader, I've considered doing some posting on the subject of prophecy. Just want to know that somebody might actually care enough to read it.

  • Blogging

    I am so busy living that I really have no time to blog. Life should be lived to the hilt, and lately it seems like there's been a lot of that going on in my life. Here are some of the things I've been spending my time on lately:

    • Family
    • Work
    • Continuing my study of prophecy
    • Trying to figure out how to survive the financial crisis

    I find joy in living the moment... somehow, blogging about what I did takes me away from this moment. I used to think that blogging would be a good place to talk about what I'm seeing in prophecy, but the subject is too big to open here. Sunday evening I had the privilege of talking to a church group in Oklahoma - their questions were insightful and interesting. I've never spoken to a group about prophecy before, so it was a bit of a new experience. Especially considering I didn't have much warning. But I enjoyed it, and I the audience seemed to enjoy it to. After all, studying prophecy isn't really about studying prophecy, its about finding the pointers to the things God is doing and will do. Its really all about the work of Jesus Christ. And in that there is much joy!

  • Isaiah 20:1-4

    1 ΒΆ In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;
     2 At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
     3 And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;
     4 So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

  • Obama's (lack of) Economics

    Obama made the statement that he doesn't mind bankrupting the coal industry. Read it here.

    So let me ask you a simple question: when the government injects cost into any business enterprise, what does that business do?

    You guessed it: they pass on the costs to the consumer. In an Obamocracy, this kind of action will cause sharp rises in energy costs. This is essentially another new tax advocated by Obama. Cash out of your pocket, into the government's pocket.

    Do you think this is a good time to increase energy costs?

  • The POX is Upon Us

    Jeremy got them first, just before we went to visit Dave & Faith in Colorado.

    The other 5 got them all at the same time, one week after we came home.
